VLSI Design Group
Our group seeks to explore, understand and exploit the never ending advances in nanoelectronics with a special focus in system- and circuit-level applications. Also, we aim at finding innovative methods and procedures to reduce complexity in the electronic design flow, from early stages till tapeout.
Our current research focuses on dealing with the dangerous uncertainties that affect current nanometer CMOS integrated circuits. Such is the case of process variations, aging, and fluctuations in operating conditions (voltage drops, hot spots or radiation failures). Our solutions combine software and hardware techniques, modeling, simulation along with actual implementation, fabrication and testing of our proposals.
The VLSI Design Group is part of the Integrated Systems Laboratory at the Electronic Engineering Department of the Technical University of Madrid.
